Finance, General Finance Analyst - El Salvador & Guatemala

Position overview:

TELUS Digital is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting under IFRS, is organized and detail-oriented, a self-starter that is adaptable to change, can prioritize multiple tasks to meet competing deadlines, and play a pivotal role in improving company processes. The primary responsibilities for this role will focus on monthly close process, account reconciliations including cash and accounts receivable, technical accounting for revenue recognition (IFRS 15), lease accounting (IFRS 16), capital accounting and other requirements that are expected from a key contributor in the head office team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly close process for the head office, including the preparation and review of accounting journal entries and account reconciliations; collaborate with cross-functional business partners while leveraging inputs from multiple ERP systems
  • Prepare and review critical balance sheet reconciliations including cash, accounts receivable, and other key accounts; ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly close deliverables
  • Apply technical knowledge of IFRS 15 to ensure proper revenue recognition; review contracts and collaborate with business teams to assess accounting treatment
  • Maintain and update lease accounting records under IFRS 16; calculate lease liabilities and right-of-use assets, prepare journal entries, and ensure compliance with lease accounting standards
  • Conduct technical accounting research and prepare documentation; communicate and collaborate with the business and FP&A to understand the accounting impact of transactions
  • Support accounting for business combinations, intercompany transactions, and monthly regional close activities
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare information to support the global consolidated audit, interim reviews, and SOX testing
  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other cross-functional groups to achieve objectives
  • Recommend and streamline processes and initiate improvements where necessary
  • Support and enhance internal controls across global finance organization
  • Ad hoc work as required to ensure the success of the broader organization

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 3+ years of experience in corporate accounting
  • CPA designation in good standing
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS required and proficiency in the use of Google Sheets
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Workday) an asset
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail and organized working style
  • Ability to work collaboratively across regional and departmental functions
