Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Direct hire with a client in Overland Park, KS (Remote). You will be responsible for designing and overseeing mechanical systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Salary Range: $100K/Yearly to $120K/Yearly; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mechanical Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design and develop mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD software and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Select and specify mechanical equipment and materials, considering performance, sustainability, and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems into building designs and resolve technical challenges.
• Oversee construction phase activities, including issuing drawing revisions, responding to site queries, and managing commissioning processes.
• Perform quality control checks and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications throughout design and implementation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent mechanical design experience.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical engineering within the construction industry, focusing on HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and HVAC load calculation tools (e.g., TRACE 700).
• Strong understanding of mechanical system design principles, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes).
