Why does the job exist?

The Senior Manager, Program Management will:

• Facilitate rule development;
• Evaluate legislative initiatives;
• Enforce rule development and review;
• Provide oversight to background check process, Abuse Registries and Nurse Aide training programs.

How does it get done?

The Senior Manager, Program Management is responsible for:

• Facilitating ruling development;
• Providing oversight to the Caregivers Criminal History Screening Program, Abuse Registries and Nurse Aide training programs.

Who are the customers?

• This position supports all areas of the Division of Health Improvement as well as providers in New Mexico as well as care recipients.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a business operations background with quality and process improvement training with proven examples of execution of prior projects showing improvement across different departments;
• Be able to work well with others;
• Go to the point of work to observe;
• Identify barriers to processes and help with process changes.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling fourteen (14) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive phone and personal computer usage. Work is fast paced and may change rapidly. Data is being assessed for trends, with issues being identified and process changes put in place to correct poor trends. This position involves sometimes tedious work related to rule development or revision with tight timelines. It also requires the person to reach across bureaus and agencies to obtain information and at times seek consensus. Some travel may be required.
