Experienced Decommissioning, Operations & Project Engineers - Expression of Interest

Wood is currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Engineers for contract assignments across a number of disciplines including:

  • Subsea Decommissioning
  • Subsea Operations
  • Subsea Project Engineering

These roles will support our growing Consulting team, either from our Aberdeen office or seconded to one of our client’s offices – with the flexibility of hybrid working where appropriate

The Roles

Due to significant growth plans for our consulting business, we are looking for contract professionals to enhance our Technical Consulting team who are driven by solving complex technical challenges for our clients, that are key to Energy security and transition.

We are seeking to speak with individuals that have a combination of skills including engineering and project management in all stages of the project life cycle. We are also looking for individuals who have a proven track record in the specific fore-mentioned roles whilst also being able to demonstrate a skilled understanding of regulatory legislation and industry best practice.

Whichever role you come into you will interface with a multi-disciplinary team of highly capable Subject Matter Experts, Consultants and Engineers to deliver best in class solutions that will ensure high customer satisfaction.

The responsibilities for each role will differ depending on your experience level and which area you are focused on. However, across all roles you will:

  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and produce services to meet these needs
  • Be flexible, supporting several projects at the same time without missing milestones
  • Identify issues and propose solutions using innovative and novel solutions
  • Complete technical design work to a high standard using Industry, Wood's and/or Client methods, standards and data
  • Challenge the status quo, support and be part of a group that seeks to grow and develop to be the best it can be

What makes you remarkable?

Expected:

  • Strong customer focus and team-working skills
  • Readily adaptable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, preferably in civils, mechanical, or subsea engineering.
  • Extensive experience in subsea engineering within the oil and gas industry, including a proven track record in subsea decommissioning or operations or projects
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritise tasks, and deliver results within deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative and practical solutions to complex subsea engineering challenges.
  • Sound understanding of HSE regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer
  • Existing Offshore certificates and medical
  • Project development experience
