We are excited to introduce the Citi Ukraine Internship Program, a unique one-year opportunity designed to empower talented, ambitious individuals in Ukraine.

This program is tailored to provide foundational knowledge, practical experience, and a robust network within the global financial industry. This internship program is an integral part of our commitment to developing Ukrainian professionals and equipping them with the skills and insights needed to navigate and shape the evolving financial landscape, both locally and globally.

Program Overview

The one-year Citi Ukraine Intern Program is structured to give you broad and deep exposure to the diverse functions within a leading global financial institution. Participants will undertake two distinct six-month rotations – one in a front-office business and one in a functional role - gaining invaluable experience across the bank. The rotations will provide exposure to different businesses and functions and build a strong foundation for future career growth. This experience offers a holistic view of how Citi operates and makes an impact, while allowing for deeper specialization and project involvement.

The program is designed to be intensive, hands-on, and rich in learning, preparing participants for future career pathways.

Sample rotations may include:

Business Immersion (Approximately 6 months):

• Client Solutions & Business Development: You will be embedded within a front-office team such as Banking, Markets or Services. This rotation will provide a deep dive into revenue-generating activities and supporting client engagement.
• This will involve active participation in market research, client needs analysis, contributing to the development of financial solutions, and supporting the preparation of client presentations.
• Gain direct exposure to sales and trading desks. You will learn to analyze market trends, assist with analysis, and understand pricing mechanisms for various products.

Functions Immersion (Approximately 6 months):

• Operations: Participate in a rotation that drive process improvements, efficiency initiatives, and operational excellence across the organization.
• Controls: focus on understanding the critical importance of risk management and compliance. You will assist in analyzing financial and operational risks, contribute to the development and implementation of control frameworks, and learn about regulatory adherence and governance that underpin the financial system, safeguarding Citi and its clients.

The internship will follow a hybrid working model (mix of in-office and home working). Flexibility on working hours may be considered for full-time students (between 20 and 40 hours per week).

What We Look For

We are seeking highly motivated, resilient, and adaptable individuals eager to contribute to work in financial services. Prior work experience is not required. Ideal candidates will possess:

• Academic Excellence: Current students in your final year of university or recent graduates with up to 2 years experience with a strong academic record in any degree discipline, including but not limited to Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Language: English language – Intermediate and higher, Ukrainian.
• Intellectual Curiosity & Problem-Solving: A keen interest in the financial industry, a proactive approach to learning, and the ability to analyze complex situations and develop innovative solutions.
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
• Analytical & Quantitative Aptitude: Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn programming languages (e.g., Python, VBA) where applicable.
• Integrity & Teamwork: An unquestioned commitment to integrity, ethical decision-making, and a collaborative spirit to succeed in team environments.
• Resilience & Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and ability to execute effectively.
• Passion for Impact: A genuine desire to make a meaningful contribution to Ukraine's economic recovery and development.
