DTI seeks a Pulsed Power Engineer who is self-motivated, able to take a lead role as an active team player (i.e., think, calculate, design, build, test) in our state-of-the-art programs. DTI’s work involves the design, fabrication, construction, installation and testing of specialized, high-power electrical equipment for industrial and government applications. Responsibilities:

  • Work with other engineers, technicians; apply engineering principles to design, fabricate, modify and evaluate radar transmitters, high-power modulators, and related electrical components and systems.
  • Prepare design plans and part specifications.
  • Conduct analyses and tests as needed to evaluate new designs, materials, and processes.
  • Design and implement automation for pulsed power and high-power microwave experiments.
  • Model pulsed power dynamics, resonant cavities, and microwave feed line interactions.
  • Work with limited supervision, routinely and capably engage independent work.
  • Provide recommendations as appropriate; offer feedback to managers and coworkers.
  • Review drawings, etc. prepared by technical support personnel.
  • Perform other tasks as instructed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Three plus years’ experience as a Pulsed Power Engineer
  • Self-guided and active team player with a willingness to learn
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and “hands-on” aptitude
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel (domestic and abroad)
  • U.S. Citizen

Compensation:

  • Salary range $90,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
