Job Description:
- As an HVAC Controls Requirements Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping climate control strategies for next-generation Stellantis vehicles.
- Acting as the bridge between stakeholders and development teams, you will define, document, and validate requirements that deliver superior comfort, energy efficiency, and system performance.
- You will also influence climate control strategies for electric and hybrid vehicles, driving innovation in comfort and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain clear, testable requirements for HVAC control software and calibration strategies.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability from system-level specifications to software implementation and validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software engineers, systems engineers, validation engineers, hardware suppliers) to align requirements with program deliverables and milestones.
- Lead requirements reviews, manage changes, and enforce configuration management best practices.
- Identify and resolve requirement gaps and inconsistencies during development and testing phases.
- Capture and integrate lessons learned into future requirements for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of automotive industry experience, preferably in HVAC controls or embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of requirements engineering principles and tools.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and calibration tools (INCA, CAN ape).
- Experience with IBM Rational Change or similar tools.
- Knowledge of quality tools and root cause analysis at MIL, SIL, HIL, and vehicle levels.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.
