As the Senior Financial Accountant, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and applicable accounting policies within the capital and operating expense area
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and analysis related to balance sheet accounts as assigned, including prepaids, accrued liabilities, assets and inventory
  • Perform fluctuation analysis of expenditures on a monthly basis
  • Actively assist in the development of expanded month end and quarterly checklists.
  • Engage other departments in approving invoices and submitting expense reports timely.
  • Prepare documentation of control policies and procedures for the Accounting & Finance team.
  • Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of process or system improvements as they relate to Accounting and Finance team.
  • Become a subject matter expert with the various financial and analytical tools utilized by the Accounting and Finance team. Analyze process breaks or gaps and determine best methodology for moving forward.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to identify discrepancies, perform research therein, and work toward resolution
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with a larger GL system is preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • CPA or CPA candidate is strongly desired

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an accounting department, including reconciliations, recording journal entries and performing analytical reviews
  • Experience with a larger GL system is preferred but not mandatory
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
