POSITION SUMMARY:
Work with the Assistant Vice President of Engineering & Architecture to facilitate and manage the Aviation Authority’s engineering/architecture projects from inception through final design, bid, award, and provide oversight through construction and closeout.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree is desirable) in Electrical/Mechanical/Structural Engineering or in Architecture/Building Design/Construction/Construction Management and 4-6 years of work experience from an airport authority, a consulting firm, a construction company, a public agency in managing the design and construction of projects, or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and work experience.
- Knowledge of engineering, architecture and construction means and methods, and management principles.
- Knowledge of design, estimating and project scheduling
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills required.
- Efficient time management methods.
- A strong work ethic, high EQ, teamwork, adaptability, conflict resolution skills
- Self-motivated
- Proficient in use of computers.
- Knowledge of the following areas is desirable: Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD); Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Adobe Pro
- Bluebeam
- Primavera or compatible software for Project Schedule
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Qualified for Licensing Examination for Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
- License of Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or General Contractor is desirable.
- Certification in a specialty subject area that may benefit the Authority is desirable.
