Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of autonomous vehicles and auxiliary equipment. This role involves working within a portfolio of autonomous maritime products intended for defense, marine research, and commercial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
  • Design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of electrical system requirements into optimized methods for assembly, testing, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Support development of automated test fixtures.
  • Perform other electrical engineering duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical engineering expertise
  • Experience in electrical design
  • Proficiency in quality inspection techniques such as using calipers, micrometers, and visual inspections
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and conduct quality control
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 7 years with a Master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary product development teams
  • Experience with architecting platform electrical and power systems
  • Experience in designing, simulating, prototyping, testing, and maintaining production-mature circuit card assemblies
  • Familiarity with systems that include hardware and software components developed for DoD, Academic, or Commercial use

Work Environment

This position is part of the Unmanned Systems group, which creates advanced unmanned maritime solutions for defense, marine research, and commercial applications. The work involves collaboration with a skilled workforce of 44,000 individuals, providing design, autonomy, manufacturing, testing, operations, and sustainment of unmanned systems, including unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and unmanned surface vessels. The environment is mission-driven, supporting a networked, all-domain force.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Plymouth, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
