Senior Metallurgist

Barrick is looking for a Senior Metallurgist to join the Processing team. This role will be responsible for leading and optimizing the metallurgical performance of the PV plant, including all circuits across the Upper, Middle and Lower benches. This role involves full time technical leadership, detailed process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure maximum metal production, recoveries, efficiencies, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

• Propose, Lead and support metallurgical process optimization initiatives to improve recovery, throughput, and reagent consumption in flotation
• Develop, implement, and manage metallurgical test work programs, both on-site and in collaboration with external laboratories, vendors and/or internal areas.
• Monitor and interpret plant data with deep statistical analysis to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Full understanding, both Metallurgical and Operational, of Comminution, Classification, Thickening, Flotation, Lime Kilns, Slaking, Pressure oxidation, Steam management, Heating exchange, Fluid dynamics, Hot Curing, Counter Current Decantation, Wash efficiencies, Lime Boiling (silver enhancement), Cooling towers, Leaching, Absorption, Elution, Refining, Cyanide Destruction, Neutralization with Limestone and Lime (High Density Sludge).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering,
• 8 + years’ experience in a technical role in process plants (grinding, POX (if possible) CIL). Flotation and neutralization highly desired.
• 5 + years of supervision experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
