Plan, manage, prioritise and report to the Chief Design Engineer on the design workload in the office in which they work.

To assist the Chief Engineer and Technical Director to achieve best technical governance of our activities.
To assist the Technical Director to develop technical excellence in their field of expertise.
As, Principle Designer, below are some of the duties you will be responsible for;
Supporting the Chief Design Engineer and Pre-Construction Managers to provide input to the overall design strategy and workload management.
Supporting the delivery teams, verifying the work of others in a timely and efficient manner, and providing expert technical support
Providing a temporary works design service to both tenders and project delivery team
Ensuring design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments.
Communicate residual design risks to others
Providing strong technical support to tenders and support the work winning team in identifying innovative and robust solutions
Leading design assurance on projects through conducting audits and regular meetings with project teams, identifying best practice, areas for improvement and areas of concern
The ideal candidate will have a recognised profession qualification (MICE or MIStructE) and a valid CSCS card or equivalent work experience.
CAD Design experience - AutoCAD or equivalent toolsets
This is a key role for an individual with extensive up to date technical knowledge of temporary works design and ground engineering and industry best practice.
Good working knowledge of structural and geotechnical software packages and BIM is required.
Must be proficient in routine and complex geotechnical calculations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners and delivery team members under time pressure.
