Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Fast Track To Department Management)

Overview

We’re seeking a Registered Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in HVAC and utility systems to join our team in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Projects: Independently manage mechanical and piping design projects from concept through completion, including HVAC, chilled water, heating water, dust collection, and control systems.
• Design Excellence: Develop detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for mechanical systems in pharmaceutical and food & beverage facilities.
• Quality Oversight: Conduct quality reviews and ensure deliverables meet the highest standards—approximately 50% of your time will be focused on project execution and oversight.
• Team Development: Collaborate with project managers to define scope, budget, and staffing needs, while mentoring and growing a high-performing engineering and design team.
• Client Engagement: Interface directly with clients to understand needs, present solutions, and build long-term relationships.
• System Analysis: Prepare engineering studies and evaluate existing systems to recommend improvements or replacements.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of design engineering experience, with a focus on HVAC and utility systems.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience in consulting for pharmaceutical or food & beverage manufacturing environments.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASHRAE, ACGIH, NFPA).
• Familiarity with central utilities: steam, chilled water, compressed air.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with dust collection and material handling systems.
• Familiarity with ISPE and HACCP standards.
• Strong understanding of GMP environments and cleanroom design.

This is a Permanent position based out of King Of Prussia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
