Responsibilities

As an intern at Berkley Healthcare, you’ll gain real-world experience in underwriting operations. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that support our business goals.

Key functions include but are not limited to:

• Assist with entering and clearing underwriting submissions in internal systems.
• Support policy preparation and documentation process.
• Help create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with agency licensing process.
• Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute fresh ideas and perspectives.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in business, Risk Management, Insurance, Economics, or a related field
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative spirit.
• Interest in the insurance industry and innovation.
• Familiarity with AI tools or technologies is a plus.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role include:

• Hourly Range: $15– $20/hr
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus.
• Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
