The Dearborn Engine Laboratory performs dynamometer-based tests on gasoline and diesel engines, covering areas such as engine development and durability, powertrain calibration, heavy-duty gas/diesel engine certification, and cooling system evaluations.
The Emissions Test Engineer for the Engine Laboratory Department interfaces with requesting departments and outside suppliers to ensure testing requirements are understood and documented, and that engine setup, testing, and disposition are executed to the highest quality standards. They are also responsible for ensuring that tests conducted across multiple labs adhere to the same standards to produce correlated and accurate data. This role is fundamental to ensuring quality emissions testing and drives the development of new emissions measurement methods and equipment.
