The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Communication Coordinator for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor, the Communication Coordinator is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation and maintenance of the UTC Advancement and Alumni digital communication efforts.

Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Communication Coordinator position is required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or on track to complete one by December 2025
  • 1+ years of experience in an office setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are paramount, along with creative thinking and superb writing skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills, along with a positive attitude
  • Process-driven team player and a proactive decision-maker, with a strong desire to advance The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.

Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree
  • 2-4+ years of professional experience in social media management, marketing, public relations or communication
  • Experience in content development systems (WordPress), CRM (Salesforce), event software (Blackthorn), form building and management (Formstack), email marketing (Marketing Cloud), digital communication, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, project and social media management software (Asana), and photography
