As a Field Service Engineer for Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be part of an ambitious team delivering top-tier service to our customers. This role stands out with its opportunity to work on a diverse range of advanced laboratory products, ensuring you consistently challenge and develop your technical skills. Your mission will be to provide flawless on-site and remote support, including preventive maintenance, repairs, installation, IQ/OQ execution, and validation for our modern laboratory equipment.

You will also have the chance to mentor junior engineers, driving continuous improvement and successfully implementing technical solutions with your proven expertise and leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Portray Thermo Fisher Scientific positively and professionally in every interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Independently plan and carry out service commitments including installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, repairs, and validation activities.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex technical issues.
  • Lead or support blocking issues from customers, ensuring quick and effective resolution.
  • Develop detailed service documentation, reports, and validation protocols that meet internal and customer standards.
  • Mentor and train junior field engineers, sharing guidelines and technical knowledge.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) business system.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial and technical teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Manage consignment stock and service tools efficiently to ensure operational readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and quality standards, including safe handling of biohazardous materials.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through regular training and self-development.
  • Find opportunities for service process improvements and customer happiness enhancement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Field Service or related technical role.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems independently.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior engineers.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication in Korean, and intermediate or higher proficiency in English (reading and technical communication).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle customer interactions professionally even under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in PC applications including MS Office and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours to support customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Thermo Fisher Scientific laboratory equipment or equivalent.
  • Prior experience conducting IQ/OQ or equipment validation in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of GMP / GLP standards and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with CRM or Service Management tools (e.g., Salesforce, SAP).
