Position Summary
Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting engineering design, testing, and manufacturing processes for our power and thermal management systems. The Mechanical Engineering Technician assists engineers with product development, design validation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality, efficient, and reliable products that meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support mechanical engineers in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components for Vertiv products.
- Create, modify, and update 2D/3D drawings, layouts, and models using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Assemble, test, and evaluate prototype components and systems; record and analyze test data to identify performance trends or issues.
- Conduct measurements, calibrations, and troubleshooting to ensure systems meet design specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations) to support production implementation and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare technical documentation including test reports, work instructions, and assembly procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects to enhance product reliability and manufacturability.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and lab facilities in compliance with safety and 5S standards.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field required; 
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, sheet metal, and/or electromechanical assemblies preferred.
- Understanding of measurement tools, tolerancing (GD&T), and basic electrical or pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with data acquisition tools, instrumentation, and test methodologies a plus.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
