About the Role:

Persona is seeking an Associate Privacy & Compliance Counsel / Privacy & Compliance Manager to help guide our global privacy program and support customer-facing engagements. In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of privacy law, compliance, and commercial enablement. You’ll partner closely with Sales and Compliance teams as well as Senior Product and Privacy Counsel to address privacy and compliance questions in real time, support compliance reviews, and help ensure Persona’s practices align with evolving global regulatory requirements.

What you'll do at Persona

  • Work closely with Sr. Counsel to advise on data privacy regulations and support sales and post-sales teams on calls with customers to educate them on our state of the art compliance.
  • Become an expert in how our product supports compliance with various regulations including KYC/AML regulations, privacy regulations, and age verification regulations,
  • Support customer due diligence efforts, including reviewing and completing questionnaires, DPIAs, and security/privacy assessments.
  • Assist Sr. Counsel by monitoring regulatory developments, provide guidance on global privacy and compliance obligations, and assist in designing and operationalizing legal compliance.
  • Assist in managing relationships with regulators and industry groups.
  • Coordinate with our compliance team to ensure compliance with contractual and privacy obligations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sr. Counsel, Security, Product, and Compliance teams to implement privacy-forward processes and documentation.
  • Draft and maintain internal and external privacy and compliance policies, templates, and FAQs.
  • Provide general legal and compliance support on other matters as needed.

What you'll bring to Persona

  • 2+ years of relevant legal or compliance experience in a law firm, in-house, or regulatory environment.
  • ideally you have a J.D. and active membership in at least one state bar or international attorney license. We will consider a non-J.D. privacy professional. (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of global data privacy and protection laws, including GDPR, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA, and other emerging frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into practical business guidance.
  • Comfort working directly with external customers in both pre-sales and post-sales settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$125K – $150K • Offers Equity

Base salaries are just one component of the total compensation package and are determined by a number of factors such as years of experience, expertise, qualifications and more.
