Seasonal Tax Preparer
We’re hiring seasonal tax preparer(s) to support our clients’ busy tax season from December/January through April 2026.
Location: Libertyville, IL
Employment Type: Temporary/Contract (December/January–April 2026)
Compensation: $22–$30/hour
Tax Preparer Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and file individual, corporate, and payroll tax returns
- Review financial records and ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws
- Handle payroll, accounting entries, and reconciliation
- Use QuickBooks Pro Series for tax preparation and recordkeeping
- Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding tax documentation and deadlines
Candidate Requirements and Preferences:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of tax preparation or accounting experience, ideally 2+ years.
- Software Proficiency: QuickBooks Pro Series, Microsoft Office
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of individual and corporate tax laws
- Familiarity with payroll and accounting processes
- Ability to work independently and manage own desk setup
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Comfortable with high-volume work and tight deadlines
Schedule:
- Standard Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
- Occasional Saturdays: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM (as needed)
- Training: Brief onboarding session to review software, printing/network setup, and workflow—then jump right into tax return preparation
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven office setting
- Independent desk setup
- Collaborative team with support from experienced tax professionals
