Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%

These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job

Axos is seeking a Consumer Collections Supervisor who will oversee a team of collections specialists working on auto, unsecured loan portfolios, as well as oversee third-party vendors handling collection activities

Requirements

  • Expertise in repossession processes, including assignment, agent oversight, recovery timelines, and compliance documentation
  • Experience with remarketing strategies, auction management, deficiency balance calculations, and fair debt practices
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy handling, including Chapter 7 & 13 processes, proof of claims, stay compliance, and reaffirmation agreements
  • Familiarity with total loss claims, insurance settlements, GAP claims, and deficiency balance recovery
  • Understanding of marine lending nuances (title perfection, repossession logistics, remarketing)
  • Solid background in auto loan and unsecured loan collections, charge-off management, and deficiency collections
  • Proficiency with collection systems (Five9, Salesforce, or similar), repossession/remarketing vendor portals, and skip-tracing tools

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of collections experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Direct experience in backend collections processes including repossession, remarketing, bankruptcy, total loss, marine lending, auto loans, and unsecured lending
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal collections regulations (FDCPA, OCC, SCRA, TCPA, Reg F, bankruptcy law)
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team of collectors and specialists
  • Monitor performance metrics (delinquency, recovery rates, compliance adherence) and hold team accountable to goals
  • Provide training on backend collections procedures, compliance requirements, and customer resolution strategies
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams to ensure adherence to policies and regulations
  • Strong data analysis skills: ability to create and present reports on recovery performance, repossession timelines, and remarketing results
  • Experience identifying process gaps, creating new procedures, and improving efficiency in backend operations
  • Ability to evaluate vendor performance (repossession agents, auctions, attorneys, skip vendors) and take corrective action as needed
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer empathy while protecting the organization’s interests
  • Adaptability to evolving regulations, technologies, and business needs
