The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $84,604 and $112,100. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:
The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There is one fixed furlough day for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate.
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. This position reports to our offices at 1200 N. Federal Boulevard in Denver three days a week and telecommutes remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days.

Denver Human Services is seeking a knowledgeable, empathetic, and detail-oriented individual to serve as an Accounting Supervisor for the Denver Human Services Financial Services Division. In this role, you will supervise staff/ associate/ senior accountants performing bank, fund, and other reconciliations. This position will report to the Financial Services Division deputy director of accounting. This position will also supervise between 3 and 8 employees (depending on final structure of team) in addition to the following duties:

Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of full performance level professional accounting experience reconciling accounting discrepancies, analyzing expenditures, and preparing financial reports.
Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements.
