Soni’s Client is seeking a Senior Tax Associate (CPA) with 3–6 years of recent public accounting experience to join their Tax Accounting Group in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, supporting tax planning for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and closely held businesses, and participating directly in client meetings. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong technical tax knowledge, multi-state experience, and a proactive, client-focused mindset. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and trusts
- Collaborate with senior managers on tax planning strategies and implementation
- Conduct tax research and prepare technical memos on federal and state tax issues
- Address multi-state individual and business taxation matters
- Participate in client meetings and help deliver strategic tax solutions
- Ensure client deliverables are accurate, timely, and within budget
- Train and support junior staff as needed
- Assist in responding to tax authority inquiries and audits
Qualifications:
- CPA license required (or CPA candidate in final stages of completion)
- 3–6 years of recent tax experience in public accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
- Strong foundation in federal, state, and multi-state tax compliance
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and privately held businesses
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with tax software and QuickBooks
- Member in good standing of the AICPA and PICPA (or eligible)
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced degree in taxation (MST, MAcc, or LLM)
- Experience with fiduciary and trust taxation
- Exposure to tax planning for family offices and generational wealth transfers
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and competing deadlines
- Interest in mentorship and growing into a leadership role
