Treasury Intern

ABOUT THE ROLE

Afiniti is looking for a Treasury Intern who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn the dynamics of financial operations within a global organization.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Treasury, you will play a key role in supporting the coordination of our global treasury function. This role will contribute to process re-engineering and systems enhancements, while also driving payment processing transformation across the finance function. It’s a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to real-world treasury operations and understand how finance enables business growth.

Our Treasury team works closely with vendors, employees, and internal stakeholders across multiple regions. The team is collaborative and solution-oriented, and you will be supported by experienced professionals who will guide you as you learn and contribute to impactful projects.

What will be your key deliverables

  • Bank Book Updates – Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly bank books in line with bank statements, ensuring 100% accuracy.
  • Payment Posting – Post all payments in NetSuite with proper documentation and attachments, maintaining compliance with audit and finance controls.
  • Settlement Preparation – Accurately process employee settlements and ensure timely vendor payments, including tax calculations and disbursements.
  • Reimbursements & Payroll Support – Prepare and process reimbursements (e.g., Careem) weekly and assist with payroll and cheque disbursements.
  • CMS Payment Coordination – Prepare all types of payments in CMS, coordinating with signatories and authorizers to ensure smooth and timely approvals.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Accurately update and reconcile the bank book based on daily bank statements, ensuring 100% data accuracy.

Who you are

Experience: Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of prior treasury or accounting experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (membership or affiliation with ACCA/ICAEW/ICAP is a plus).

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to draft clear, concise, and professional emails for internal and external communication
  • Behavioral Traits: Collaborative, proactive, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Prior accounting or treasury experience in a similar setting
  • Experience with data uploading
