Job Summary:

The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for executing daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, company accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in period-end closing processes including cash application, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounting activities. The Senior Accounting Specialist also works closely with cross-functional business partners, acting as a liaison in resolving issues and answering inquiries, to maintain accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate completion of general accounting and intercompany accounting duties, including but not limited to:
    • Preparing and submitting manual journal entries, including monitoring monthly accruals
    • Ensuring cash is properly applied in the Company’s financial systems, following established policies and processes
    • Monthly account reconciliations
    • Intercompany confirmations
    • Receivables and payables
    • Inventory batch shippers
    • Cash tracking log and associated documentation
    • Billings
  • Lead period-end closing process and activities for assigned areas of the GL and intercompany.
  • Proficient in working within the Company’s Order-to-Cash financial systems, including Oracle, JDE, and DENSO developed tools
  • Acts as a liaison with other DENSO functions/teams/locations to resolve outstanding issues, inquiries, and ensure strong internal controls.
  • performs other ad-hoc duties, as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external customers in the normal course of performing duties
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible
  • Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to questions or issues
  • Process improvement, continuous learning, and team player, mindset
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP / IFRS
  • Familiarity with internal controls and best accounting processes/practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience working in Automotive or Manufacturing industries preferred
  • Experience working at a public accounting firm in an assurance or similar line of practice
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/Accounting systems (Oracle experience is a plus)

Annual Salary: $68,000 - $85,000
