Loretto is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate candidates to work at one of our Assisted Living facilities as a CHHA (Certified Home Health Aide). If you are not already certified, paid training is available!

Assisted Living's Home Health Aide positions are located at 1 building, therefore, your own vehicle is not always required. Both part - time and full - time positions available at our Nottingham Facility in Jamesville, NY!

WHAT DOES A HOME HEALTH AIDE DO?

As a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA), supporting the mission of Loretto, will include the following responsibilities:

  • Provide health care tasks to serve Loretto residents, including, personal hygiene services, housekeeping tasks, and other related support services essential to the residents’ health
  • Work with Loretto’s clinical team to record and report changes regarding the resident’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance
  • Perform light housekeeping duties including cooking, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, & sweeping
  • Assist with bathing, dressing and grooming
  • Assist with transfer and ambulation including the use of a cane, walker, and wheelchair

Qualifications

  • Must possess training or certification from an approved Home Health Aide Training program or have the capability to take and pass the Certified Home Health Aide Certification through the American Red Cross, or other approved program.
  • High school diploma, GED or ability to pass a written TABE test.
  • Prior experience as a Home Health Aide preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions, keep records and report any changes in resident’s condition promptly.
  • Ability to complete and pass a medication management course.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including strong reading comprehension and writing skills in English.
  • Must have availability to work a varied work schedule on all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
