The Senior Manager Tax Audit is responsible for tracking and processing of complex Tax Audits related to Sales, Use, Occupancy, and Excise taxes as administered by multiple jurisdictions. The Tax Audit Manager will prepare solid support for audit process with traceable progress. The Tax Audit Manager will be required to work directly with governmental representatives, ownership, hotel personnel, operations members, accounting staff, and other tax department members. In addition, the Tax Audit Manager will be responsible for overseeing the processing of Real Estate and Personal Property tax filing and payments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • Typircally requires 6 + years of advanced experience with preparing for tax audits
  • Experience with working with tax auditors
  • Experience with multi-state tax processing and filings.
  • Experience with Real Estate and Personal Property tax
  • Strong leadership, organizational and coaching skills.
  • Requires knowledge of accounting, particularly the application of State and Local tax rules and regulations.
  • Requires thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience applying business process improvement, cost reduction and efficiency programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook.
  • Responsible for the financial and operating performance of the Aimbridge Tax department and preparation of annual goals, objectives, and strategies for the department.
  • Oversee the preparation of Real Estate Tax budgets.
  • Establish and monitor adherence to financial controls including segregation of duties.
  • Monitor Tax activity and resolve issues.
  • Develop professional and technical knowledge by researching tax questions utilizing CCH, attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
  • Continual analysis on new local tax laws to minimize tax liabilities while assuring compliance.
