About the Team

The Datacenter Infrastructure Engineering team supports the company's fast growth by building and operating hyperscale datacenters. The team manages the end to end lifecycle of server fleet, providing cloud solutions and various infrastructure services ensuring that they are scalable and are reliable.

About the Role

The team is looking for candidates with strong data center facility construction and commissioning backgrounds, passionate about engineering excellence, and providing effective and sustainable solutions with an eye to the future. You understand the challenges associated with deploying infrastructure at scale and have experience in designing systems and platforms that set the global standard for performance, availability, security, and cost. The work you do will influence processes globally.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with data center design, delivery, and commissioning teams to ensure facility construction and commissioning meets operational requirements.

2. Review data center MEP designs and other relevant disciplines for new builds and data hall fit-outs, providing operational feedback.

3. Regularly audit and review colocation partners' data center design, construction, and commissioning plans, collaborating as needed.

4. Participate in construction QA/QC, providing feedback to internal stakeholders (e.g., DCD TPM and IE DCE CX Lead).

5. Participate in testing and commissioning reviews to determine the necessary tests for design verification.

6. Support the IE DCE CX Lead in tracking commissioning and facility construction quality issues, providing regular reports.

7. Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with partner teams, vendors, teammates, and internal customers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma or Professional Certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline. With more than 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations necessary to determine capacity requirements (i.e., TIA-942, ASHRAE).
  • Experience with Power Redundancy and its implementation in design (i.e., 2N or N+1 Distributed Redundant).
  • Understand Cooling Redundancy and how Concurrent Maintainability is implemented in design (i.e., N+1 or N+2).
  • Experience in the following areas:
  • Supervision of the construction team to complete Data Hall fit-out experience, including IT services Coordination, Power and Cooling Planning.
  • Managing testing and commissioning team to perform L1 to L5 commissioning tests to validate the system design intent and resolve technical problems.
  • Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub-distribution systems, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A high level of agility with the ability to prioritize work and stay organized in a complex, fast-paced environment with high ambiguity.
  • Vendors, projects, or program engagement experience.
  • Good judgment with a calculated risk approach during uncertainties.
