Business Systems Analyst - Customer Facing Applications

This position will be a key contributor to the success of our software development projects by translating business needs into technical solutions. Using expertise in gathering requirements, analyzing workflows, and bridging communication between business stakeholders and technical teams will be essential to delivering high-quality software. In this role, the Business Systems Analyst collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and end-users, ensuring that the development team has clear, actionable insights to create solutions that exceed user expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for the development team, ensuring comprehensive documentation and clear understanding.
  • Act as the main point of contact between business units and developers, facilitating communication to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Maintain and analyze product backlog for opportunities to consolidate, innovate, and restructure to improve value to our customers.
  • Consume current processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions that streamline operations and enhance system functionality.
  • Collaborate with developers during design phases to clarify requirements and assist with testing, ensuring solutions meet user needs effectively.
  • Oversee the QA testing of items and features to ensure quality delivery and alignment to gathered requirements. Perform QA testing when/as needed
  • Create training materials, user guides, and support documentation to aid end-users in adapting to new or updated applications, supporting a smooth change management process.
  • Provide expert 3rd-tier support and identify backlog work items post-deployment to enhance and refine delivered solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in IT or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally within an IT or software development environment.
  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to write clear and concise technical requirements, user stories, and process documentation that are easily understood by developers.
  • Ability to author QA test cases and plans aligned to user stories and consumable by end-users and QA team members.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to facilitate conversations with diverse teams, from developers to business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, ideally SCRUM or DevOps, and experience working alongside developers in a project environment.
  • A keen ability to understand business needs and translate them into effective, technically feasible solutions.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps to bridge communication between developers, BSAs, and Product Owners, ensuring alignment on priorities and capturing necessary details for successful project execution.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
