Position Description:

Builds Java web services, Application Programming Interfaces (API) solutions, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and RESTful services deployed via Continuous Delivery (CD) infrastructure (Jenkins and Concourse). Deploys DevOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, Stash, and Docker. Delivers personalized digital experience to customers by building RESTful services according to Business Process Management/Business Process Outsourcing (BPM/BPO) principals and service orchestration, using XML/JSON. Writes unit test cases using testing frameworks (Junit, Mockito, and Spring Test). Designs and develops cloud computing environments for platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client/server applications within a cloud computing environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client/server applications within a cloud computing environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing APIs using microservices written in Java with Spring Boot, according to event-driven architecture that uses events to trigger and communicate between decoupled microservices.
  • DE designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native services using AWS technologies (EC2, SQS, and SNS) and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) for scalable and maintainable cloud computing services; and designing highly performant message flows using ActiveMQ, Apache Camel, and Apache Kafka to handle complex integration and data processing requirements.
  • DE testing customer-facing enterprise back-end applications pre- and post-installation (including performing unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing) using Java and Junit to ensure the applications function correctly, meet performance standards, and provide a seamless user experience.
  • DE performing CI/CD by building pipelines to automate the building, testing, and deployment of software applications using Jenkins, Bamboo, and UDeploy; and building dashboards to monitor the health, performance, and deployment status of the applications.
