Licensing Data & Audit Analyst

The Data & Audit Support Analyst is responsible for creating custom queries from start to finish utilizing Crystal Reports. These reports are utilized in specialized audits of clients, licenses, and appointments. The DAS Analyst is also responsible for the creation of reports utilized in projects. This individual will be creating reports utilized in the reconciliation of state and other invoices. Through the creation of complex reports utilizing crosstabs, advanced formulas, parameters and subreports this analyst will provide current and historical data for use in the following Market Conduct Examinations, Tax liability reporting, financial planning and rating agency questionnaires. This individual requires the reporting knowledge to create and publish custom reports with an ultimate goal of an end-user to self serve though Infoview, a web-reporting tool. In addition to creating reports for in-house customers, such as Actuarial, Tax Department and specific business segments, the DAS Analyst creates specially customized reports that are sent directly to clients. This reports are submitted to clients through FTP (File Transfer Protocol) also setup by IT and the DAS Analyst.

Regulatory Compliance 15%

The Data & Audit Support Analyst is responsible for interpreting and analyzing state law, regulatory changes and state departments of insurance guidelines followed by taking action as applicable. This information is sent in the form of state regulatory bulletins and other notifications. The DAS Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining charts, automating spreadsheets, and updating schedules of all trackable deadlines.

System Support 15%

The Data & Audit Support Analyst serves as a resource to others in the troubleshooting, documenting and resolution of complex issues and problems. The analyst is responsible for the department's inquiries requesting assistance for errors or guidance resolving daily support and production issues. This individual is responsible to take action within a predetermined response time and work directly with IT at a Business Analyst level. This entails first trouble shooting, documenting the issue and finally escalating to management or IT if necessary. This analyst is responsible for handling production issues, attempting a solution within licensing and involving IT when necessary. The analyst is responsible for preparing test plans, conducting user system testing, system requirements for system implementations, and performing system maintenance.

Audits 20%

The Data & Audit Support Analyst is responsible for the creation and management of several categories of audits. These include client, license and appointments. The analyst gathers data from several sources including state departments of insurance and NIPR and then through advanced reports and Excel spreadsheets completes automated comparisons. The results then are documented, discrepancies assigned out for correction, invoices are paid and regulatory compliance is assured. The DAS Analyst is responsible for the facilitation of the Alerts Process; a combination of license compliance monitoring, report creation, automated comparison and discrepancy assignment.

Project Management 10%

The Data & Audit Support Analyst is responsible for creating and managing projects for the Licensing Department. These projects include deployment of new products, clients, implementation of state changes and conversions, and processes. The Analyst is responsible for the research, development, creation, documentation, quality measure and completion of projects.

Accounting 5%

The Data & Audit Support Analyst is responsible for several accounting functions such as invoice payments, invoice reconciliation, voiding unneeded company checks, depositing vendor checks, re-classing department expenses when allocated incorrectly. This process includes allocating the expenses or credits to licensing and offsetting the other accounts/cost centers. The DAS Analyst is responsible for billing back the other sites and reconciling the inter-company charges.

Education

  • BS or four years of related work experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft office software, this includes advanced
  • Excel totaling minimum two year’s experience.
  • Reporting knowledge and intermediate experience with Crystal Reports or other reporting tool.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to become proficient with licensing software programs.
  • Ability to learn complex insurance terms and practices.
