Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the HNC program at Lackland Air Force Base, TX. This role involves providing advanced technical guidance and systems engineering expertise across highly complex network and electronic systems, including Command and Control (C2), airborne networking, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. The ideal candidate will serve as a senior engineering authority supporting the development, integration, and sustainment of advanced Air Force acquisition programs.

Responsibilities

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Serve as a senior technical expert for systems development involving complex computer network or electronic systems.
  • Provide technical leadership in the development of software architectures, hardware concepts, and designs for systems supporting communication, sensing, computation, and control.
  • Guide and support the full engineering lifecycle including requirements definition, development, integration, testing, and validation of networked systems.
  • Lead performance analysis, modeling and simulation, hardware/software investigations, and maintainability studies.
  • Identify and resolve complex system architecture and design problems, recommending changes to improve system performance, interoperability, and mission effectiveness.
  • Evaluate compatibility and interoperability between assigned systems and integrated systems, communicating potential issues to key stakeholders.
  • Review and evaluate system documentation, including technical specifications, design plans, and interface documentation.
  • Prepare technical documentation for engineering forecasts, project status updates, and detailed engineering planning.
  • Provide recommendations and oversight for software and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with program managers, systems engineers, and acquisition professionals to ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force acquisition standards.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in DoD

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: TS/SCI

Education: Masters degree

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of C2, airborne networking, and ISR system integration
  • Experience in software architecture, embedded hardware systems, and network engineering
  • Proficiency in system performance analysis, simulation, and testing techniques
  • Strong understanding of system compatibility and interoperability frameworks
  • Skilled in producing technical documentation, design reviews, and engineering analyses
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and documentation requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Effective collaborator with multidisciplinary teams
