As a part of our continuous focus on offering high performance and cutting-edge products and solutions, the field of Systems Integration and Testing as applied to High Voltage power converters and power supplies designed for varying applications and markets, is of critical relevance.

The Test Engineer will be responsible for testing and validating high voltage power supplies, systems and components, ensuring that they meet design specifications and performance standards.

This opportunity is onsite, 5 days per week at our Global Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY 11788

What You will Do:

1. Technical

Design, develop, and execute test plans for high voltage power supplies, systems and components.

Conduct troubleshooting and failure analysis on high voltage power hardware.

Analyze test data to identify trends or issues, preparing detailed testing reports.

Collaborate with design engineers to understand product specifications and requirements.

Utilize testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analyzers.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all testing processes.

Participate in design reviews and provide feedback based on test results.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in IV&V methodologies and technologies

Continuously improve testing methodologies and practices.

2. Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory, to ensure seamless integration of systems and compliance with industry standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide feedback throughout the development lifecycle.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all integration, verification, and validation activities adhere to regulatory standards and best practices specific to the industry.
  • Support audits and inspections related to IV&V activities, interfacing with regulatory agencies and team.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience in power electronics, power conversion testing and validation, with a strong understanding of electronic components. Experience in High Voltage power supplies strongly desired
  • Experience with design and testing of power converters, inverters, power supplies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as IEC and UL.
  • Proficiency in test equipment, lab measurement equipment, instrumentation and data acquisition tools and software.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in requirements interpretation, verification, and validation preferably for power conversion / Power electronics systems.
  • Familiarity with industry best practice verification and validation methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Power Electronics & power conversion experience a major plus:
  • Understanding of basic converter topologies.
  • Understanding of analog circuits.
  • Familiarity with digital electronics
  • Experience designing switch mode power suppliers a plus
  • Hands-on experience (problem solving, design verification, troubleshooting and bench work).
  • Well organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask

Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $106,000-$128,000 Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.

This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.
