Job Purpose
As an AI/MLJunior Project Manager, you will be responsible for helping to manage projects and working closely with clinical team, product team, data scientists, ML engineers, analysts, and data engineers within a fast-paced environment. This role will have a specific focus on the successful delivery of AI/ML and analytics projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal resources and team for execution of AI/ML and analytics projects.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility, with a focus on AI/ML and analytics use cases.
- Help develop and manage mode sustainment project plans that establish scope, timelines, and resource requirements for data acquisition, model development, and analytics delivery in line with AI/ML best practices and emerging guidelines.
- Help to maintain a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress as well as documenting meeting minutes, agendas, and action items.
- Define and manage the lifecycle of AI/ML projects from data collection and preparation to model training, validation, and deployment.
- Work with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for AI/ML models and analytics initiatives.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams (data science, engineering) and business stakeholders (marketing, sales, client success) to ensure project alignment with business goals.
- Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Clarify requirements to ensure project execution according to plan.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, including those specific to data quality, model performance, and algorithmic bias.
- Lead project execution, ensuring accountability and project delivery according to time, scope, budget, and quality.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 or more years’ experience in project and/or product management
- Proficient in project life cycle from initiation through closure
- Have a thorough understanding of SDLC methodologies, product development and change management
- Demonstrated progressive experience in managing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to use project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office Suite/Microsoft Project.
- Experience with proactive project management best practices including PERT/Gantt chart creation, critical path analysis and task status reporting
- Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle and concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning, model training, and validation.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Basic understanding of programming languages commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R) is a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Experience in using Atlassian tools like JIRA and Confluence is a plus
- Experience with process improvement and inventory control
- Proficiencies include a basic understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, product development and change management.
Welldoc operates in ISO 13485 and MDSAP regulated and HITRUST and SOC 2 Type II compliant environments. Therefore, it is expected that all employees will have either prior experience working in those environments or will be trained to understand the requirements needed to work and support those requirements and culture as they relate to individual roles and responsibilities.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. A degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Welldoc offers a competitive compensation package which, in addition to salary, includes generous PTO, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision care, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits. and the opportunity to participate in health savings accounts and/or dependent care accounts. The anticipated salary range for this position is between 80-115K with the expectation that most candidates will fall around the midpoint of the range, exceptional candidates may exceed the range.
