This role is responsible for the design of printed circuit boards, which encompasses skilled schematic entry, PCB layout and new component creation skills within the corporation’s global PCB library. This role supports electrical engineering on NPD, sustaining and productivity designs that have average complexity. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature and they serve a cross functional role and must maintain good communication and working relationships with the design engineers. This role will also support and guide engineers on the use of the layout tools as needed. This role will also maintain the schematic and layout design templates to keep them current with Nogales manufacturing guideline documents. This role travels minimally, but may be called upon to visit our manufacturing facility or attend remote training classes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design printed circuit boards (PCB) using Altium Design
  • Support legacy printed circuit boards (PCB) designs using PADS and PCAD
  • Supports Engineers with the use of the layout tools
  • Create component footprints based on device spec and IPC guidelines
  • Proficiency of single sided and multi layers board technologies
  • Capable of running Design Rule Checking on Schematic and PCB
  • Maintains the Chamberlain Corporate Library
  • Capable of generating complete drawings set to document PCB; Schematic, Fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, Gerbers, Bills of Materials (BOM’s)
  • Participate in Peer reviews
  • Responsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document Library
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates of Applied Science in Engineering or equivalent degree strongly preferred; or an additional 2 years of job-related experience as defined above in the Essential Functions section
  • An advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience
  • 5 years of job-related experience
  • Flexibility to travel up to 10% of time

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
  • IPC Designer certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Signal integrity
  • Knowledge of DFM and DFT rulesets
  • Ability to work within cross functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills

The pay range/rate of pay for this position is $61,000.00 - $115,075.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
