WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Our team for the digitalization of white biotechnology supports the implementation of solutions that enable easy input and management of FAIR data. Furthermore, we collaborate with computational biology to make sophisticated computational models and pipelines available for daily work in biotechnological research. We are a bilingual team that works in both German and English. The working student position should start no later than 01.09.2025.

  • Your main task is the programmatic migration of thousands of entries from an old database to a new inventory system for biological samples, as well as ensuring the quality of the migrated data.
  • Additionally, there are many opportunities to actively contribute and learn new things – even beyond the actual project.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • student in a scientific field of study with programming skills
  • experience in writing scripts in Python, basic knowledge of Bash, SQL databases, and Git
  • understanding of biological terms such as DNA, protein, nucleotide, amino acid, plasmid, genome, bacterium, gene
  • Members from states outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland are requested to send their residence/work permit, including the relevant supplementary sheet as well as the completed questionnaire.
