Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Principal AI/ML Specialist to join our Technical Account Manager (TAM) team.

You'll be at the forefront of solving complex technical challenges, guiding strategic enterprise customers through their most ambitious AI transformation journeys. By combining deep technical expertise with collaborative problem-solving, you'll help organizations unlock the full potential of cloud-based artificial intelligence technologies.

Key job responsibilities

  • Deliver Strategic Technical Engagements: Lead comprehensive technical deep-dives and performance optimization for enterprise AI/ML workloads
  • Architect Innovative Solutions: Design and implement proof-of-concept solutions using advanced cloud AI services
  • Enable Customer Success: Support customers in implementing business-critical AI features, including large language model fine-tuning, Model Context Protocol, GPU instance optimization, GenAI on containers and generative AI applications
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Collaborate with service teams to enhance system-wide performance and operational efficiency
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Develop and nurture technical partnerships with enterprise stakeholders

A day in the life

Your day will be dynamic and impactful, involving deep technical consultations, strategic solution design, and collaborative problem-solving. You'll engage with technical leaders, architect innovative AI implementations, and provide expert guidance that bridges technology with business objectives.

You will partner with TAMs, SAs and service teams to provide customers with AWS AIML best practice guidance, diving deep into AIML services, promoting customers AIML workloads to production, developing regional AIML strategies, and training field teams on the use cases and benefits of generative AI.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in technical roles, including software development and SRE responsibilities.
  • Deep expertise in AI/ML frameworks and related technologies.
  • Experience with distributed systems, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and monitoring tools.
  • Strong programming skills and systems design experience
  • Proven capability to navigate and contribute to discussions on Cloud Provider Compute Environments, including the intricacies of AWS
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional technical writing, presentation, and documentation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • * Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
  • * Familiarity with cloud-native architectures
  • * Experience with compiler optimization, or hardware resource management
  • * Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis problem solving techniques
  • * Background in deep learning systems software and distributed computing
  • * Track record of delivering large-scale ML solutions
  • * Knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture
  • * Proven experience managing enterprise-scale technical relationships.
  • * Demonstrated success in deploying and optimizing complex production systems.
  • * Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) or SRE-related frameworks.
  • * Public speaking experience at technical conferences or webinars.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
