Job Title: Construction Inspector/ Resident project Representative

Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to provide on-site oversight of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role serves as the engineer’s field representative, ensuring that construction activities comply with contract documents and project specifications. The inspector will maintain detailed records, facilitate communication between stakeholders, and support the project team throughout the construction process.

Location: Statewide (Indiana)

Travel is required throughout the state. Accommodations and per diem are provided. Mileage reimbursement is available for use of a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Remain on-site for the full duration of assigned construction projects
• Monitor construction progress and contractor compliance with project schedules
• Maintain a daily logbook and update construction drawings with authorized changes
• Review contractor submittals, including shop drawings, schedules of values, and material samples
• Attend preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and job site conferences
• Enforce and comply with site safety protocols
• Assist the engineer in coordinating with contractors and resolving field issues
• Review contractor payment applications and provide recommendations to the engineer
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction inspection or Resident Project Representative (RPR) roles
• Experience with water and wastewater construction, including:
  • Potable water line and sanitary sewer installation
  • Pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plant construction
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications
• Knowledge of testing procedures for water/sewer installations, including:
  • Pressure testing, air testing, hydrostatic testing, vacuum testing, mandrel testing, chlorination, and de-chlorination
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Willingness and ability to travel and stay overnight as needed

• Collaborative team environment with 25–28 Resident Project Representatives

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $37.72/hr.
