Purpose:

The Reinsurance Pricing team oversees all technical aspects of reinsurance transactions – across both new business pricing/underwriting/execution and in-force management. The team is highly visible in the wider Apollo/Athene organization and is playing a key role in the Apollo/Athene Asia-Pacific expansion strategy.

We are seeking a pricing professional to support the pricing, underwriting and structuring for potential asset intensive reinsurance transactions. The successful candidate will provide support across new business pricing and in force transaction management. This role will collaborate across teams in multiple geographies to support the execution, onboarding and ongoing management of reinsurance transactions. This role will also be responsible for ongoing model development and pricing framework enhancement.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop pricing models for potential flow reinsurance transactions
  • Produce analyses of the profitability and risk profile of deals and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Support the onboarding of business into management and financial reporting areas
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing tools and models
  • Check and review work produced within the team
  • Present and communicate pricing results to management

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or related field
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or higher (and actively pursuing FSA), or equivalent qualification of other Actuarial professional organization
  • 5+ years’ actuarial experience including exposure to long term (re)insurance products
  • Experience with fixed rate and indexed annuities strongly preferred
  • Experience with actuarial projection and valuation software
  • Ability to interact with internal senior management and client company management
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills
  • Ability to effectively participate in, and help foster, a team-based work environment
  • An ability to set and manage priorities in a changing work environment is essential
