Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer position is responsible for monitor quality indicators in order to verify conformity of the manufactured products. Manages internal (interdepartmental peers, operators) and external (customers, suppliers) communications for assigned projects. Evaluation of nonconformance trends to address root cause/corrective. Assists team in moving orders through in-process and final inspection. Perform duties assigned by the Quality Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers and suppliers to ensure timely communications and conformity of parts
  • Assist in compiling and submitting FAIs and PPAPs as required
  • Create FMEAs, Control Plans, etc. as required
  • Participate on Corrective Action Response Teams
  • Assist in managing RMA process
  • Assist in customer contract review process
  • Liaison with other departments such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc. in order to effectively identify and resolve issues
  • Identify and implement process improvements on an on-going basis
  • Has the ability to stop the manufacturing process if a problem is detected
  • Provide support, as needed, during internal and external auditing activities

Requested Knowledge, Competencies and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 a plus
  • MS Office suite proficiency, primarily Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of measurement equipment & calibration requirements
  • Lean Six Sigma a plus
  • Blueprint reading with GD&T experience
  • Deep experience in metal fabrication and strong manufacturing background
  • 5 years of experience
