About the Role

The Payment Risk Strategy team is responsible for detecting and preventing fraud across the end-to-end payment lifecycle, ensuring secure and trustworthy transactions for users and partners. As a Payment Risk – Data Analytics Intern, you will support the team in identifying suspicious patterns, analyzing fraud trends, and contributing to the development of data-driven risk strategies. You will work closely with Risk Strategy and Operations teams to build insights that enhance fraud detection rules, support operational decision-making, and strengthen the platform’s overall risk controls across global markets.

Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 3 months long internships period.

  • Analyze the global payment market data to determine insights and opportunities.
  • Conduct investigations to monitor, audit, and analyze potential fraud cases, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Utilize data tools to identify patterns and inconsistencies within transactional and customer data for fraud prevention and detection
  • Provide regular fraud reporting and help define and improve key performance indicators

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a diploma/degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Engineering or relevant disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to use SQL to process and analyze data
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working effectively under pressure
  • Strong data analysis and correlation skills to mine the characteristics of different scenarios from complex data sets, is a strong plus
  • Be able to intern for 3 months or more, and 2-4 days per week (3+ days per week is highly preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in statistics or a related field from a top global institution preferred.
