Job Title: Electromechanical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This role is focused on mechanical assembly, particularly in avionics systems for drones. The position requires specialized hands-on skills in PCBA assembly, electronic potting, and adherence to strict manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly tasks independently, utilizing schematics, drawings, verbal or written instructions.
  • Assemble and test avionics components, including PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and integrated modules, applying precision adhesives and bonding techniques.
  • Provide real-time design and assembly feedback to Manufacturing and Quality teams, escalating and resolving build issues through proper channels.
  • Follow detailed Manufacturing Process Instructions and strict safety procedures while building assemblies.
  • Meet aggressive deadlines and flexibly shift priorities across multiple projects.
  • Record and update data accurately.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical PCBA assembly and experience using hand/power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque drivers, drills, and calipers.
  • Ability to read basic SOPs and non-technical instructions and follow directions.
  • Proficiency in soldering.
  • Enclosure integration and torque-controlled fastening.
  • Cable and harness routing.
  • Knowledge of electronic potting processes.
  • Experience with bonding composites such as carbon fiber and epoxies, including mixing, dispensing, and curing.
  • Ensuring waterproofing and environmental protection.
  • Following Manufacturing protocols.
  • Basic computer skills in MacOS or Microsoft.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and proactivity.
  • High attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical or manufacturing assembly within a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with cable and wire routing.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • No specific educational requirements.

Work Environment

The facility is located in South San Francisco and is divided into four areas: the front office, the Nest for assembling recovery systems, launch systems, and battery devices, the Vehicles area for drone body assembly and wing structure composite work, and logistics. Each team consists of 3 to 4 assemblers and a team lead.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
