Job Title: Electromechanical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled electromechanical assembler to join our manufacturing team, specializing in mechanical assembly with a strong focus on avionics systems for drones. This role requires advanced hands-on abilities in PCBA assembly, electronic potting, and adherence to strict manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly tasks independently using schematics, drawings, verbal or written instructions.
  • Assemble and test avionics components such as PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and integrated modules, applying precision adhesives and bonding techniques.
  • Provide real-time feedback on design and assembly to Manufacturing and Quality teams, and resolve build issues through appropriate channels.
  • Follow detailed Manufacturing Process Instructions and adhere to strict safety procedures while building assemblies.
  • Meet aggressive deadlines and flexibly shift priorities across multiple projects.
  • Record and update data accurately.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical PCBA assembly experience with hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque drivers, drills, and calipers.
  • Ability to read and follow basic SOPs and non-technical instructions.
  • Soldering skills.
  • Experience in enclosure integration and torque-controlled fastening.
  • Cable and harness routing proficiency.
  • Electronic potting processes expertise.
  • Bonding composites experience, including mixing, dispensing, and curing.
  • Ensuring waterproofing and environmental protection.
  • Adherence to manufacturing protocols.
  • Basic computer skills, such as MacOS or Microsoft.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and proactivity.
  • High attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Intermediate-level position requiring 2-3 years of experience.
  • Electro-mechanical or manufacturing assembly experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Cable and wire routing expertise.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and perform soldering.

Work Environment

Located in South San Francisco, the facility consists of four main areas: the front office, Nest for assembling recovery, launch, and battery systems, Vehicles for drone body assembly and composite wing structure work, and Logistics. Each team comprises 3 to 4 assemblers, plus a team lead, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
