Category-defining tech. Career-defining work.

Lots of tech companies disrupt. But, many fail when they try to scale. We're different. CockroachDB makes it easier for companies to build and scale apps. This is how and why we're helping some of the most innovative companies on the planet. We tackle problems head-on and focus on solutions that create lasting impact.

Because when our customers win, we all win.

The Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, data-savvy, and systems-fluent People Operations Analyst to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring data accuracy, reporting reliability, and operational scalability across the employee lifecycle. You’ll manage our HRIS (Bob), deliver recurring People metrics, and support cross-functional processes that rely on clean people data. You’ll also identify and execute workflow automations, data cleanup, and documentation improvements leveraging AI.

Success in this role is about executional excellence behind the scenes. You’ll own the tools, the data, and the day-to-day workflows that make our People Operations engine run smoothly.

You Will

  • Maintain the highest standards with configuration of HR system (Bob), troubleshoot and support end users
  • Maintain and monitor Bob data integrity across all workflows by creating ongoing audit procedures
  • Partner with payroll vendors to deliver key reports for on time and compliant payroll processing
  • Create and deliver recurring People analytics reports (monthly, quarterly, ad hoc)
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure smooth data handoffs and audit readiness
  • Support payroll processes by managing and validating inputs (pay rate changes, one time payments, employee changes), and providing required reports and data pulls from Bob to payroll providers
  • Drive onboarding and offboarding systems workflows and refinements
  • Transition systems, integrations or vendor shifts related to HR data and infrastructure
  • Experiment with AI tools that streamline manual processes (e.g., reporting, documentation, agent utilization)
    • This could be a learning area for top candidates. We will support you in the journey if you bring curiosity and a desire to innovate!

The Expectations

In your first 30 days you will learn our HRIS (Bob) and complete a full audit of core workflows and data integrity. You will take ownership of reporting and align with cross functional stakeholders on expectations. You will shadow onboarding and offboarding processes to understand systems touchpoints and partner with People Ops Coordinator and cross functional teams to clarify handoff protocols.

By 60 days you will own all Bob system updates, integrations and workflow maintenance. You will deliver monthly and ad hoc reports independently and on time. You will begin identifying automation or process improvement opportunities and take over system support. You will also provide accurate data exports and reporting from Bob to support the payroll process.

After 3 months you will be the go-to resource for questions related to system workflows and data pulls. You will deliver high quality reports that meet stakeholder expectations with minimal review. You will support audit-related data requests independently and begin testing improvements to reduce manual lift across key POps workflows.

You Have

  • 3–5 years of experience in People Operations, HRIS, or related roles, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (Bob preferred; experience with similar tools is welcome)
  • Strong background in Excel, Google Sheets or other data analytics tools. Proficiency in building formulas, pivot tables, and automated reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills with the ability to manage repeatable processes with consistency
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for preparing and presenting data insights
  • A knack for relationship-building to develop strong cross-functional partnerships with a broad variety of stakeholders around the company
  • (Bonus) Experience with AI tools to automate or optimize work
  • (Bonus) Experience with HiBob HRIS
