Our Team
In New Taipei, Taiwan, we serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing innovative optical modules to support our customer’s next generation networks. We are looking for an Optical Test Engineer to join our team.
Your Role
This person will be responsible for optical components, modules and subsystems testing and characterization of innovative fiber optical products, such as the optical frequency/Time domain reflectometry, optical performance monitor, weak optical coherent signal detection solutions that are used in telecom and datacom.
This person will work with multi-discipline teams, including sales and marketing, product line managers, electrical, mechanical, and optical R&D teams, and work with colleagues of different geographic sites.
What You Will Do
- Develop, maintain, and extend Labview characterization scripts for R&D testing of optical related system or environment.
- Design and build up optical setups to support system metrology capabilities
- Execute test plans and verification procedures based on defined product requirements.
- Evaluate new optical components and validate their performance under varying test conditions.
- Collaborate with a small team in a fast-paced environment to continuously expand testing capability and inform production of future
- Systematically document test results and testing procedures
- Present data, methods, and conclusions to the technical and leadership team.
- Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong foundation in optics, with a focus on fiber optics.
- Hands-on experience using LabVIEW to develop and run automated test routines.
- Familiarity with working in an optical lab environment, including the use of photodetectors, lasers, oscilloscopes, and other fiber-optic equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information and solve problems.
- Good verbal and written skills for exchange of information in a clear and concise manner in English and Mandarin.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.

- Experience in testing and characterization of fiber optical products.
- Familiar with design of experiments (DOE) methodology and processes.
- Familiar with data acquisition and statistical analysis, such as Minitab, Microsoft Power BI and similar.
- Familiar with visualization of complex data sets.
