About the Job

We’re seeking a Technical Project Manager/Development Engineer to join our Technology Development team within the Business Unit Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger (GPHE). In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the forefront of developing new technologies within heat transfer solutions. You’ll drive innovative concepts that push the boundaries of what’s possible, addressing new and existing challenges with new technical solutions.

The job has large variation and includes everything from driving larger concept projects as technical project leader to performing classic development work including developing, realising and verifying new conceptual design solutions. 3D-cad work and FE-analysis will be part of this position.

This position is based in Lund, with travel up to 20 days per year.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Project leadership: Leading cross-functional conceptual development projects that redefine the future of heat exchange technology. The project starts from white paper and ends with verified prototypes in our test facility.
  • Innovative Design: Focus on mechanical design and using 3D-cad/FE-analysis to optimize and validate new design solutions.
  • Collaborate Broadly: Work across internal teams—production, sales, sourcing—and engage with external partners like universities and technical institutes.

Who you are

You’re a curious, driven, collaborative and enthusiastic problem solver. Your passion for technology is matched by your ability to communicate and engage with others, fostering collaboration and innovation. You’re structured yet open-minded, and your networking skills, both internally and externally, are key to your success.

What you know

  • A degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Experience as a Technical project manager
  • Experience in innovation and technology development
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD
  • Experience with FE-analysis tools is required
  • Knowledge of mechatronics is a plus

What’s in it for you

We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value. Your work will have a true impact on Alfa Laval’s future success. You can be a part of a collaborative culture, part of a team that values diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
