Do you want to be part of the team enabling the evolution of secure systems for a connected world? As Senior Engineer Emulator System, you will be responsible for bringing our chip designs to life on an FPGA-based emulator as part of the agile tool team in Munich. The emulator is a core part of our Software Development Kits (SDKs) that enable our internal and external customers to develop and debug software for our secure micro-controllers.

Job Description

In your new role, you will:

  • Be part of a multicultural Scrum Team, collaborating with other teams in a scaled Scrum setup
  • Contribute to our SDK, which enables our internal and external customers to develop software for our secure microcontrollers
  • Integrate the emulator components into a complete system
  • Verify the emulator system's capability of debugging the whole range of microcontrollers
  • Extend the design to include enhanced debug features
  • Write tests to ensure the highest quality for our customers
  • Work on fixing bugs and adding improvements to our components
  • Support the continuous integration and continuous deployment of the SDK and all parts
  • Take care of support for internal and external customers
  • Analyze errors together with different hardware and software teams
  • Program software in C++, C, Python, Perl, Groovy, and other languages using multiple IDEs

Your Profile

As a Senior Engineer Emulator System, you manage your performance consistently and reliably. Furthermore, you clarify areas of responsibility, coordinate your work with colleagues, and regularly share your insights with them. Lastly, you see and understand the root causes of potential delays or quality defects and develop suitable solutions for them.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with a focus on embedded systems
  • 3+ years of professional/industry experience
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl
  • Developed and debugged code with IDEs like Microsoft Visual Studio, VS Code, and Eclipse in a Windows/Linux environment
  • Worked with version management tools like GitLab and bug tracking tools like Jira
  • Experience with agile product development using continuous integration systems
  • like Jenkins
  • Good understanding of the hardware architecture of microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex/RISC-V) and Assembly Language
  • Knowledge of embedded software development. Ideally, experience with Keil uVision, GDB, open ocd, and debug plugins for VS Code
  • Good to have: Clear Case know-how
  • Good communication skills and experience working in a Scrum team
  • Fluent in English
