Job Description

The Online Learning Data Analytics Intern will support online Seminary, Institute, and BYU-Pathway Religion courses through data analysis, technical assistance, and process optimization. This role involves managing support metrics, developing and maintaining spreadsheets, and providing technical support to users worldwide. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, service-focused environment.

This is a paid internship expected to last for 12 months. This position is a part-time (20 hours per week), hourly, nonexempt position. The intern should be available to occasionally work outside of regular business hours and on Saturdays, as needed. This position is hybrid, with occasional in-office attendance required. Advance notice will be given for any in-person events and work required outside of regular business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop customer support metrics to enhance service quality.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize spreadsheets to support online learning processes.
  • Assist Online Administrators with course access provisioning.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for S&I users related to online course content and usage.
  • Develop and deliver data-driven presentations to communicate key findings and insights.
  • Complete other technical projects and tasks as assigned, demonstrating attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within the past 12 months) from an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in data analytics, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Must reside in Utah and be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar customer service platforms is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in another language (Spanish and Portuguese) is a plus,but not required.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and trustworthy.
  • Receptive to feedback with a willingness to learn and grow.
