Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, Curriculum and Instruction or related field. Teacher Certification and Master’s degree desirable. Three years of experience with records and data in an educational environment or in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Provides comprehensive support to students pursuing educator certification, ensuring compliance with state requirements and serving as a central resource across programs. Oversees and analyzes testing data, maintaining accurate records, and generating reports to support student success. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and testing agencies to ensure alignment with certification standards and continuous improvement in testing outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversees the Educator Preparation Program(EPP) testing program for the College of Education. Delivers comprehensive testing support services to students pursuing certification, ensuring they fulfill all state certification requirements. Serves as a central resource across both undergraduate and graduate programs. Advises students on state testing certification requirements, including the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES) and related certification processes. Manages students exam registration, result interpretation, study plan creation, and certification timelines. Recommends candidates for official TExES testing based on eligibility and preparation benchmarks. Facilitates supplemental instructional activities such as study groups, independent studies, and individualized study plans. Plans and conducts testing workshops to support exam preparation and improve pass rates. Provides ongoing communication and updates on testing timelines and requirements to students, both proactively and for those in the testing appeals process, as well as to College of Education stakeholders. Creates exam-specific media resources for targeted audiences, including but not limited to instructional videos and presentations. Maintains secure and accurate records of TExES practice exams and scores. Analyzes testing data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement. Generates semesterly performance reports and recommends remediation strategies for at-risk students. Supports continuous improvement efforts related to testing and certification outcomes. Collaborates with the Office of Assessment and Accountability, EPP faculty, and staff to ensure accurate information sharing and adherence to state certification standards. Coordinates with testing agencies. Assists in configuring and implementing tools and systems that support test preparation and monitor student progression. Performs other related duties as assigned.
