Job Description

Technical Lead — Angular | Nx Monorepo | Bootstrap | Storybook | Playwright

We’re looking for a Technical UI Lead with deep expertise in Angular and front-end architecture to own the design system strategy and lead the evolution of our shared component library [expanded scope and leadership]. You’ll work closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and UX designers to define technical direction, enforce architectural standards, and ensure delivery of scalable, accessible, and well-tested UI solutions across multiple teams.

You’ll operate in a high-trust CI/CD environment—every commit goes to production, and there’s no separate QA team. That means you’ll be responsible for setting expectations and ensuring quality practices are embedded in the development process. You’ll drive the creation of automated test coverage strategies using Playwright for end-to-end testing and Storybook for component development and documentation.

We work with the latest technology and plan to keep doing so. Our team uses tools like GitHub Copilot to help with AI-powered coding, Figma and FigJam for design, and we’re always open to trying new tools that can help us create better experiences for our customers.

Our Front-End Tech Stack Includes:

  • Angular 19 in an Nx monorepo
  • Bootstrap, integrated with our custom Meridian Design System
  • Storybook for documentation and cross-team UI collaboration
  • Playwright and Jest for end-to-end and unit testing
  • CI/CD pipelines that support rapid, high-quality delivery to production

We value system thinking, performance, and platform maintainability. You’ll help ensure that UI decisions support both short-term product goals and long-term architectural integrity.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex Angular applications.
  • Drive the creation of a comprehensive library of reusable Angular components and services, ensuring high quality, maintainability, and extensibility.
  • Architect and manage a Git monorepo strategy for front-end projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Angular developers.
  • Define and enforce best practices for Angular development, including coding standards, testing strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Oversee code reviews, ensuring adherence to architectural guidelines and quality standards.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance our front-end stack.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in front-end development, with at least 4 years focused on Angular.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and projects.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Angular (versions 10+ preferred).
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with NgRx for state management.
  • Strong command of RxJS for reactive programming patterns.
  • Extensive experience working with Git monorepos and related tooling (e.g., Lerna, Nx).
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries like Bootstrap.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Jest or other unit testing frameworks for Angular.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for front-end deployments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
